Landscapes in transition: the later Roman and early medieval periods

In recent decades new light has been cast upon the impact of the Anglo-Saxons in England. This chapter examines tbe concept of continuity and discontinuity through the use of documentary, place-name, archaeological and palaeoenvironmental data integrated with evidence from the landscape itself.
