Assessment will be in two parts:
- Written report - 80% of module mark
- Presentation - 20% of module mark
Written Report
- Length - 10,000-12,000 words, excluding tables and charts and other appendices. The report prepared as part of work experience, can be included as an appendix.
Presentation
- 15 min presentation (with questions).
Supervisor Feedback
Formative feedback will be given on early drafts of work. Feedback will be verbal and written (such as comments on draft work).

Marks will be allocated on the basis of the following criteria:
Report
Structure, appearance and presentation (20%)
- Cover and binding
- Clear layout of title page, acknowledgements and contents page
- Use of appropriate section headings/ sub-headings throughout the report
- Accurate grammar and spelling
- Clear referencing and bibliography
Content (80%)
- Concise and compelling executive summary
- Clear introduction
- Clear articulation of the challenges faced by the company and addressed in the report
- Use of appropriate figures, tables, illustrations and graphs
- Use of relevant academic theory
- Clear context of the study - industry / company background; product / service background
- Relevant data collection (primary and secondary)
- Analysis - detail and quality
- Recommendations (including feasibility and further investigations)
- Appropriate use of appendices
Presentation
Content
- Demonstrates knowledge of the subject area
- Demonstrates appropriate skills in analysis, evaluation and application
- Uses appropriate evidence to illustrate points
- Ensures the subject is engaging and interesting
Structure/Logic
- Uses appropriate forecasting (in the introduction) & signposting (beginning and end of sub-topics)
- Highlights important points
- Uses linking, sequencing and summarising
- Gives appropriate closure (conclusion)

- Clear voice and delivery
- Audio-visual aids are readable and clear
- Smart appearance
- Adequate pace and pauses
