We present a genome assembly from an individual male Pyrgus malvae (the grizzled skipper; Arthropoda; Insecta; Lepidoptera; Hesperiidae). The genome sequence is 725 megabases in span. The majority (99.97%) of the assembly is scaffolded into 31 chromosomal pseudomolecules, with the Z sex chromosome assembled.en_GB
