Welcome to Digital Collections Online (DCO), the University’s open access repository for images and multimedia. Search the collections for digital images from the University’s prestigious Research and Special Collections, the renowned Bill Douglas Centre for the History of Cinema and Popular Culture and some of our highly-regarded research projects.

You will find a wide range of images of 3D objects, old periodicals, rare books and photos, original artwork, cartoons, manuscripts, postcards, playbills and much more. Go to the CHARTER project to browse collections thematically under the headings Empire, Imperialism & overseas encounters, Science, spectacle & magic, and Work, home & leisure. Our current Special Collections section is particularly strong in Victorian popular culture.

All material in the repository is free to use in your learning, teaching and research activities but we would be grateful if you would acknowledge DCO as your source.

If you have any queries about the images or if you would like to find out more about depositing your work in Digital Collections Online contact Open Access.
