Introduction to the novel: The following novel, Vilnius Full of Space, follows Miriam from the Sonoran Desert of Tucson, Arizona, to Vilnius, Lithuania, where she accepts a job from a friend she hasn’t seen in many years. Navigating a post-Soviet landscape, she begins to discover the physical, cultural, and political layers that are beneath the surface of everything she sees, and everywhere she goes. Simultaneously denying and confronting her inherited family narratives, she learns how buried, forgotten, or ignored history slowly makes itself known—and that she has a choice whether or not to repeat the patterns of her past.en_GB
