dc.description.abstractThis training manual explains how to track Asian hornets (Vespa velutina nigrithorax) – an invasive non-native species accidentally introduced into Europe - to find their nests. To prevent population establishment, Asian hornet nests need to be located & eliminated quickly once their presence in an area is known. To aid locating their well-hidden nests, VHF radio-tracking allows individual hornets to be fitted with radio-transmitters and followed to reveal their nests in a time-efficient manner. This PowerPoint manual is best viewed as a slide-show and embedded videos (indicated), showing details of some of the processes, viewed by clicking on the image.
