Opportunities for improved social sustainability in marine governance. A University of Exeter and Marine Management Organisation collaboration

Abstract

This report presents the findings of a knowledge-exchange between the University of Exeter and the Marine Management Organisation (MMO). The purpose of the project was to explore areas of opportunity in England’s marine governance to deliver social sustainability. The report introduces social impact and social sustainability in the context of marine planning and decision-making. It presents the findings of the collaborative project and a series of recommendations.
