A one-parameter family of differential systems that bridges the gap between the Lorenz and the Chen systems was proposed by Lu, Chen, Cheng and Celikovsy. The goal of this paper is to analyze what we can say using analytic tools about the dynamics of this one-parameter family of differential systems. We shall describe its global dynamics at infinity, and for two special values of the parameter a we can also describe the global dynamics in the whole ℝ3 using the invariant algebraic surfaces of the family. Additionally we characterize the Hopf bifurcations of this family.

Computerised decision support systems in order communication for diagnostic, screening or monitoring test ordering: systematic reviews of the effects and cost-effectiveness of systems
Main, C; Moxham, T; Wyatt, JC; et al. (NIHR Health Technology Assessment Programme, 1 October 2010)Order communication systems (OCS) are computer applications used to enter diagnostic and therapeutic patient care orders and to view test results. Many potential benefits of OCS have been identified including improvements ... -
Tipping points in open systems: bifurcation, noise-induced and rate-dependent examples in the climate system
Ashwin, Peter; Wieczorek, Sebastian; Vitolo, Renato; et al. (The Royal Society, 2012)Tipping points associated with bifurcations (B-tipping) or induced by noise (N-tipping) are recognized mechanisms that may potentially lead to sudden climate change. We focus here on a novel class of tipping points, where ... -
Decision support system for metabolism-based transition to urban water systems of tomorrow
Morley, Mark S.; Behzadian, Kourosh; Kapelan, Zoran; et al. (IWA Publishing, 21 September 2014)A decision support system (DSS) tool for the assessment of intervention strategies in an urban water system (UWS) with an integral simulation model called “WaterMet2” is presented. Lists of intervention options and Performance ...
