Abstract

While the idea of using evidence to inform policy is not particularly novel, the attention for it in Europe has peaked in recent decades. Whereas evidence-based policy discourse initially dominated a limited number of policy areas such as health, education and social policy, it has now reached a status of almost common sense in the entire public sector.
