This article reviews a production of Francis Beaumont's The Woman Hater (1606) performed by Edward's Boys and presented at the University of Oxford's Catholic Chaplaincy in March 2016. The first mounting of the play since its debut at Paul's at the beginning of the seventeenth century, the production is highly praised for its reconstruction of boy company dramaturgy and the virtuosic performances of its young actors, leading the review to reflect upon the difficulty of reviving boy company plays and the requirements of a highly skilled ensemble to pull such an enterprise off.
