Historical volcano data can suffer from under-recording of eruption occurrence, which can vary with time and magnitude. A Bayesian hierarchica] framework is employed, to model simultaneously the true eruption rate and the under-recording mechanism, in order to obtain a more reliable inference on the relationship between eruption magnitude and frequency.en_GB
