dc.description.abstractThis article engages with the views of prominent leaders from the First Intifada with the intention of evaluating if a Palestinian uprising is conceivable under existing circumstances. It provides an insight into the past and present of Palestinian struggle with a view to establishing a basis for contemporary struggle. In acknowledging the fragmentation of Palestinian land and population, it argues that many of the features that made popular struggle possible during the First Intifada are now clearly absent and suggests a new praxis of resistance is c required.en_GB
