Access to museums and other cultural sites can be defined as initiatives and practices that lead to the physical, social and cognitive adaptation of environments, exhibits, education, information and well-being to accommodate people with what are traditionally referred to as disabilities and the elderly. Access is usually allied to the sociological concept of inclusion, although access is often less politically and socially motivated, with access more often focused on the practical issues of physically, economically, culturally, psychologically, emotionally, and linguistically providing a way to visit cultural sites.
